Hannover/Shanghai. The Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show (MWCS) took place from 19 to 23 September 2018 in conjunction with the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) in Shanghai. The growth of the MWCS – which was rescheduled to an earlier September timeslot this year – shows no signs of slowing down. For the first time, the event occupied four exhibition halls at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. Attracting more than 600 exhibitors (2017: 500) with displays filling a net area of approx. 36,000 m² (2017: 29,500m²), as well as more than 173,000 trade visitors (2017: 168,000) from over 80 countries, the MWCS has consolidated its standing as the leading event for the metal working industries in Asia. The exhibits at the MWCS ranged from machine tools, sheet metalworking and production to tools.
The MWCS is staged annually by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe headquartered in Hannover, Germany. The trade fair takes place in conjunction with seven other industrial fairs under the CIIF umbrella. The Industrial Automation Show (IAS) belongs to this constellation, which yields tangible benefits to visitors from the automotive and aviation industries, the rail and shipbuilding industries, as well as the IT sector and electronics industry.
The next MWCS will be held in Shanghai from 17 to 21 September 2019.
